Click the arrow in the middle to watch the tool in action. Woodcut Tools Ltd new articulated head hollowing tool, designed to work on smaller projects than it's larger sibling. It will fit comfortably fit through a 15mm aperture due to the shaft being 12.7mm (1/2") diameter and no steps in the articulations. The tool is supplied with two links, the straight and the curved, they are made from aircraft specification high tensile steel to ensure there is no flex. The cutter head is a smaller version of the standard Pro-Forme hollowing tools that have been available for years and is made from the same triple tempered M2 high speed steel. The Pro-Forme Flexi has been designed for use on small to medium sized projects with a depth of no more than 6 to 8 inches, the depth achievable depends on the size of the opening and the type of tool support use. Obviously the larger the opening the further the in the project the tool can be supported using the Irons ToolGate or a standard tool rest angled into the opening. Twin Collet Handle This new handle has an overall length of 455mm (18") and has two comfortable foam handles. The collet chuck accepts both 12.7mm (1/2") and 10mm collets, the collet not in use is stored on a magnet inside the base of the handle so it is always to hand. As well as having a very positive locking action no tools are needed to change from one size of gouge or hollower to another, unlike a lot of this type of tool handle, so tool shafts are not damaged by grub screws. The handle is no just limited to being used with the Flexi Hollower, there are also two sizes of double ended bowl gouges available, 10mm and 12.7mm (1/2") and any tool that has a shank diameter of either diameter.
Flexi Sander Head This little self propelled sanded head is a great addition to the Flexi Tool system. The cutter head is removed and the this is put in it's place, creating an articulating self propelled sander that will reach every nook and cranny inside your hollow forms. It uses Tim Skilton "click in" sanding arbors and has two sealed bearings. The 30mm arbor is standard but it will accept the 50mm and 75mm arbors as well, so you can use it just as easily on the outside. Due to the compact size of the head it will fit through a 35mm diameter opening.
