VL100 ELECTRONIC VARIABLE SPEED MINI LATHE
The Rolls Royce of mini lathes, used by amateurs, clubs and professionals alike. It is a scaled down version of it's big brother the VL300, all the components are the same just smaller. I use one for all my demonstrations. It's features: Extra heavy-duty castings for the headstock, lathe bed, banjo and tailstock. Camlock banjo and tailstock with longer levers for secure locking. Heavy-duty 3 mm folded plate steel cabinet. 350mm wide footprint and pre-drilled anchor points. One piece headstock spindle machined from K1045 steel with high quality, taper roller bearings. 2MT headstock spindle and tailstock quill with 10.5 mm knock out through hole. Chromed hand wheel for easy rotation of work piece. 24 point indexing/spindle lock, now with 1/4 turn movement. J5 Poly V Drive belt for maximum power transmission. .55 Kw (3/4 Hp) European sourced high efficency motor ie: AEG, ABB or LAFERT Forward and reverse button. Bolt on bed extension facility. (500mm lengths). Speed range from 10 - 1000, 20 - 2000, 30 - 3000 rpm.

The nuts are welded into the cabinet, so it is just a case of undoing the four fixing bolts and disconnecting the drive belt. Each half weighs approximately 30kgs which is a lot easier to lift than the whole unit.
